VTEC Technology - Honda's Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system gives you a broader, flatter torque curve and smooth power delivery throughout the engine's operating range. It means outstanding performance without sacrificing fuel economy. It's all becuase the VTEC varies the lift and duration of the intake valves to deliver optimal performance at both low and high rpm, resulting in peak performance at all speeds. VTEC uses two cam lobe profiles to operate the intake valves. The low-lift, short duration cam lobes provide strong torque at low rpm. High rpm horsepower is achieved by engaging the third rocker arm on a high-lift cam. Resulting in a superior combination of power, torque and fuel economy.
Dual Stage Induction - Honda's unigque varibale intake system maximizes combustion efficiency for increased torque and superb fuel economy. While most four-strokes use long manifolds to deliver air into the cylinder head, Honda's SDI uses a plenum chamber with twin butterfly valves to vary the volume and velocity of air flow. It all adds up to a simple, compact design that enhances both low speed drivability and high-speed performance.
Lean Burn Feedback - This feature automatically adjusts the air/fuel mix according to speed and load while maximizing power throughout the rpm range. You'll save 20% on fuel consumption in the "lean" cruise mode.
Power Thrust Design - A special Power Thrust 4-blade prop creates 60% more thrust in reverse and 15% more in forwad, providing improved maneuverability and performance.

Torsion Dampener - Sometimescalled the flywheel, this component is located near the base of the powerhead. The design lowers the center of gravity for improved handling, hull maneuverability and minimal vibration.
Sealed Starter - The starter motot is inverted in a sealed chamber that protects the starter bendix drive from the elements. The result is solid dependability.
